Release on March 15 of the album Layon by Nicolas Pellerin and Les Grands Hurleurs

album layon nicolas pellerin and the great hurlers

Montreal, March 5, 2024 — More than ever in a creative, dancing and organic spirit, Nicolas Pellerin and Les Grands Hurleurs are launching Layon on March 15!

This sixth album can be listened to like a walk on a trail with scents, height differences, stones and surprising landscapes. An album well anchored in the groove: despite the use of acoustic instruments, a more rock energy emerges from this album.

The group wanted to integrate the personality of each member of the group during the production of Layon . Coming from different backgrounds, different styles, the four musicians – Simon Lepage (vocals, bass and double bass); Louis Thibault (voice, bouzouki, mandolin and guitar); Nicolas Pellerin (voice, violin and feet) and Philippe Girard (voice and guitar) – were able to bring their energy and their influences to achieve this rather explosive result. We also feel the enthusiasm of the two young new members of the group who give Les Grands Hurleurs the desire to dance, to touch and to offer high performances!

This change breathes new life into the band's music, which is also intended to be vibrant, but more refined. The group thus wishes to return to the sources by daring a sound closer to acoustic instruments with careful and thoughtful arrangements, while remaining organic. With the integration of folk, classical and bluegrass influences, the group will surprise and touch people once again with this enriched trad!

Finally, let us note that the group will perform its most recent pieces on stage on April 12 at the Salle Jean-Pierre Houde in Châteauguay. To get tickets, click here .
